Saskatchewan Remote Guardians was born from real experience — years working in the oilfield, natural gas, and electronics across this province, and witnessing the damage that heating failures and power outages cause to homes and families.

Born and raised on a family farm in Saskatchewan, Barry started his family near Weyburn, SK. In 2001, he moved to Nipawin with his family while working as a natural gas technician, and has proudly called it home ever since.
After years in the oilfield and as a natural gas technician, Barry owned and operated an electronics and computer business. These roles gave him extensive hands-on experience with remote monitoring systems, SCADA technology, alarm response, temperature and flow monitoring, and data acquisition.
While serving rural Saskatchewan, Barry witnessed firsthand how power outages, propane failures, and faulty heating systems caused burst pipes, major water damage, mold, and expensive repairs for many homeowners and farms. Recognizing the need for better protection in our remote and harsh winter conditions, he created Saskatchewan Remote Guardians.
